After enjoying a lovely and delicious Thanksgiving with Andy’s family plus Nana, we were up and at ’em Friday putting up lights, bustin’ out the ornaments, and decking the halls with boughs of synthetic holly. It has become a beloved Sortor Family tradition to purchase our tree at 90th and State, where Santa flies down in his pop-up trailer with a couple of his tiny reindeer to spread Christmas cheer W.T. style. This year Brooklyn asked for a pair of snow boots, and Avery stared in wide-eyed silence, nodding affirmatively to the suggestion of “treats”. We completed the day by decorating the tree to our favorite Christmas mix-CD in the magical glow of string lights. Fact: It doesn’t get better than this.
